Break out the pastels, the florals and the open-toe shoes. Spring has sprung and we can finally put away our winter wool and fleece to make room for lighter, brighter clothing. Personally, I’m ready to forget how to dress for the cold for a while. Along with finally being able to bring out my spring hats and dresses, I’m looking forward to wearing spring color combinations again.

If it’s been a few months since you’ve put on anything but dark sweaters and coats, you might find yourself wondering what in the world to wear.
These color combinations for spring will help your closet feel fresh and filled with possibility.
Olive Green & Navy
I often see olive green styled with tan, black or denim. Don’t forget about another neutral color: navy. Navy can make an otherwise muted color palette look more interesting. (dress: Weekend Doll; hat, gloves, brooch, handbag: vintage)
Mint Green & Brown
I call this look “mint chocolate chip.” This spring color combination reminds me of one of my favorite ice cream flavors, and that can only be a good thing. Wear a mint green dress or suit with dark brown accessories for a sweet and sophisticated look. (shoes: Remix Vintage; suit, handbag, hat, gloves: vintage)
Tan & Ivory
Basic colors are anything but boring when you build an outfit around a cute pinafore. One in a classic plaid print stands out against an ivory blouse. Add a matching beret, handbag and gloves for a chic spring outfit. (pinafore: Vivien of Holloway; blouse: The Seamstress of Bloomsbury; gloves, handbag, beret: vintage)
Lilac & Yellow
Light purple and yellow make a happy color combination for spring. It’s hard to dress in these colors and not feel cheerful. Add pops of yellow to a purple top and denim skirt for a boost of joy. (shirt & skirt: Simple Retro; shoes: Memery; belt: vintage)
Light Teal & Brown
Take some inspiration from Robin eggs with a light teal or blue suit and brown accents. Swap out the buttons on your suit or blouse for brown buttons to really tie the look together. (suit, gloves, handbag: vintage)
Lilac & Navy
Navy blue goes with just about any color, and it looks especially lovely for spring when paired with lilac. Try wearing navy suits, skirts or pants with a lilac blouse, and shoes that are navy, dark brown or white. (suit: Miss Candyfloss; shoes: Remix Vintage)
Kelly Green & White
You’ll feel as beautiful as a spring bouquet in a kelly green dress and a floral hair accessory. Consider wearing a handbag and shoes in white or blush pink; both look great with bright green. (dress: The Pretty Dress Co.; hat, handbag, gloves: vintage)
Hot Pink & Black
Not much of a pastels person? Hot pink and black is a bold and powerful color combination for spring. Try a bright pink dress with a black belt and hat, or a hot pink top with a classic black skirt. (dress: Vivien of Holloway; bracelet: Amber Sceats; gloves, belt, handbag, hat: vintage)
Navy & White
You can’t go wrong with the classics. Brighten up a navy dress for spring with white accessories and shoes, or pair a white blouse or sweater with a navy a-line skirt or culottes. (dress, gloves, handbag, hat: vintage)
Bottle Green & Tan
Bottle green is a sophisticated color that looks even more regal with tan or gold accents. Add a gold brooch or belt to a bottle green dress, or top your look with a tan straw wide-brim hat. (dress: The Pretty Dress Co.; handbag, gloves, hat, brooch: vintage)
