When it comes to putting vintage outfits together, shoes are often the hardest part. True vintage shoes, as gorgeous as they can be, don’t have the same comfort-enhancing technology we have today. Thankfully, there are reproduction brands creating beautiful, vintage-inspired shoes to make our ensembles complete. I now bring you the latest addition to my vintage-style shoe collection: The Charlie Stone Agatha pump.
Charlie Stone reached out to see if I’d like to review their Agatha Pump from the Madame Mystery collection. I was already a fan of Charlie Stone’s elegant shoes, having previously reviewed the Charlie Stone ‘Roma’ flats, so I was excited to try this new style.

Charlie Stone Agatha Pump Review
The Charlie Stone Madame Mystery Autumn/Winter ‘24 collection was inspired by 1940s detectives and I can definitely picture a stylish sleuth sporting these pumps.

The Agatha pumps have a classic shape that can be styled with many different decades of fashion, from 1930s looks to modern outfits.
I chose the Black Croc color, made with croc embossed leather. They’re also available in a rich brown ‘Espresso’ and a deep Emerald.
The bottom sole is made of a smooth man-made blend, which I suspect makes them suitable for dancing.
Are Charlie Stone Agatha Heels comfortable?
I typically wear 1940s-inspired shoes that have a rounded toe box, small platform and thicker heel, all of which make for a more comfortable shoe. You will rarely, if ever, catch me in a pointed toe stiletto.
That’s why I was pleased to see that the Agatha Pump features a rounder and wider toebox compared to other vintage reproduction shoe styles.

They also have a small and sturdy curved heel, which is just 3 cm or slightly over an inch high. This means I can wear them for longer periods of time without my toes feeling squished or the balls of my feet feeling tired.
Another step Charlie Stone took to ensure these heels would be comfortable is including a supportive insole. The added arch support, heel cup and metatarsal pad really make a difference.
Charlie Stone Agatha heels sizing
Compared to my pair of Charlie Stone Roma flats, which run true to size and slightly narrow, these heels run on the larger size. They also have a wider toe box than the Roma flats, which have more of an almond toe shape.
This makes them great for people with wide feet or who prefer a generally roomier fit.
Be sure to check out their size chart and if you’re between sizes, I suggest sizing down.

The Agatha pumps are fairly priced at under $150, which is right around the price I’d expect to pay, or even less, for a vintage-style high heel.
