Spring brings a natural transition to wearing lighter colors of clothing and makeup. For me, that means swapping my deep red and plum lipsticks for lighter or brighter pink lipsticks. A pretty pink lipstick is perfect for creating a soft makeup look, or just for something different when red lipstick doesn’t quite work with your outfit. I like wearing a bright pink lipstick especially during the summer; I think it looks so pretty with summer dresses and white linen tops, and can add some glam to a pool day outfit. A light pink lipstick is a reliable shade for any daytime occasion, and can be subtly alluring for summer date night makeup.

Whether you’re looking for a light pink lipstick, a bright pink lipstick or something in between, these pink lipsticks for fair skin are worth adding to your makeup collection. Here are my favorites:

Pink lipsticks for fair skin

Vulox Vanity Glamour Lipstick in Royal Pink

Vulox Vanity Glamour Lipsticks were created by a vintage makeup collector, which is evident from the gorgeous vintage-inspired gold metal packaging. The formula is semi-matte, so you get the shine that so many lipsticks had during the golden age of Hollywood, without sacrificing color payoff. The shade Royal Pink is a cool-toned pink that reminds me of 1950s lipstick shades. It’s neither too bright nor too nude, just a good, medium pink! Dafna Beauty Lipstick in Vintage Mod

Dafna Beauty Lipstick has a unique formula in that it applies really creamy but dries down matte, meaning it has impressive staying power. The long-lasting lipstick in the shade Vintage Mod is inspired by 1960s lipsticks, described by the brand as a “medium pink.” If I were a singer in a ’60s girl band, this is the shade I’d be wearing. MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Crème Cup

MAC Creme Cup lipstick

Finding a light pink or nude color that flatters has always been difficult for me. Lighter shades of lipstick tend to wash out my complexion. One light pink lipstick I do like is MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Crème Cup. The creamy formula makes my lips look moisturized, not dry. It has a slightly glossy finish that helps lips look fuller, too. MAC describes the color as a “light blue pink” and I think the cool undertones work well for my skin tone. The color is the perfect in-between nude and true pink for me. I like to wear this color when I’m going for a 1960s-inspired look. MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Crème Cup, $23 at MAC

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink In the Afternoon

This lipstick can be hard to track down, so I suggest grabbing a tube if you can! It actually might be the lipstick Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick is one of my favorite formulas and I have about five different shades from the line. All of the shades I have apply smoothly and evenly, and I love the creamy, slightly glossy look that helps lips appear more full. Pink in the Afternoon is described as a “creamy pink-peach.” It’s a great match for colorful eye shadow for 1960s inspired makeup, but also looks pretty with more subtle eye makeup. Kosas Weightless Lip Color in Daydream

I was disappointed when I learned Kosas replaced their Weightless Lip Colors with new shades. The shade Rosewater used to be one of my most-loved lipsticks. The cool-toned, slightly sheer pink was the perfect everyday color that could be worn with just about any makeup look. Since it was semi-sheer, it’s easy to apply, but still gave plenty of pretty, rose-toned color. Thankfully, the new shades are super close matches to the old ones. Rosewater has been replaced by Kosas Weightless Lip Color in Daydream, a “cool pink” that looks almost identical. The formula is comfortable to wear and doesn’t feel drying on my lips, as it’s made with moisturizing butters and oils. Kosas Weightless Lip Color in Daydream, $26 at Sephora

Face Atelier Lipstick in Jolie

I used to be afraid to play with brighter colors of makeup, but I’ve learned that they can help bring warmth to my face. One bright pink lipstick I like wearing during summer is Face Atelier Lipstick in Jolie. It’s a matte shade that’s incredibly pigmented. It also lasts awhile and wears off without any weird patchiness. I imagine the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel might wear a color similar to this while vacationing in Miami.
