Hot off the press! Each week in the Vintage Minute you’ll find exciting news about new product releases from vintage-inspired brands, book releases, retro-themed events and more.
Why you should book your next trip to Brooklyn:
Revlon is sponsoring an exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum that features clothing, jewelry and Revlon cosmetic products once owned and loved by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving is on view from February 8 to May 12, 2019.
This year’s Halloween costume will involve a seashell bra:
Disney’s The Little Mermaid is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. A special anniversary edition of the animated feature is available on Digital now and will be available on Blu-Ray on February 26. Extras include over an hour of bonus features and “Part of Your World: A 30 Year Retrospective.”
What to wear on spring break:
Unique Vintage dropped new Disneybounding apparel, just in time to order for spring break trips or for the Dapper Day events at Disneyland and Disney World this April. My personal favorite is this cropped blouse printed with Minnie Mouse applying lipstick!
Brush up on women’s history:
The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote by Elaine Weiss chronicles the frustrating battle and nail-biting final days that led to women’s suffrage. The paperback will release March 5, one year after the book’s initial debut. It’s set to be a television event directed by Steven Spielberg and executive produced by Hillary Clinton.
