Matching pajama set gift ideas

Matching pajama set gift ideas

Working from home, especially during a pandemic, means it’s easier to stay in my pajamas longer. With a matching pajama set, I feel like I’ve sort of dressed for the day instead of feeling totally sloppy, which is a nice little confidence booster on days when I could use the encouragement. Search “1940s pajamas” or “1950s pajamas” on Etsy and you may even find a vintage set that’s never been worn. Or browse the selection of cute pajamas from the list below.

Lunya

Lunya makes different styles of washable silk pajama sets in a range of beautiful colors. Silk pajamas not only feel luxurious but help regulate body temperature for a more comfortable night’s rest. They can warm you up when it’s cooler but are breathable when you’re hot. I love my Lunya Washable Silk Set for that reason. Plus I can throw it in the washing machine on the delicate cycle and know it will come out in good shape.

Playful Promises

In addition to lingerie, Playful Promises also has a good selection of sleepwear. They recently released a line of pajama sets made partially with recycled polyester. I think the Playful Promises Bodil Jane Ruffle Pajama Shirt and matching Ruffle Pajama Shorts are so cute with the fun print and retro details.

Not Just Pajama

Not Just Pajama is a London-based brand specializing in pajamas and everyday wear made from sustainably sourced silk. They make the most darling vintage-inspired pajama sets I’ve ever seen. I’ve had my eye on the Not Just Pajama French Style Short Set for a while. The 1930s-inspired cut is adorable, as is the embroidered “love” in cursive on the collar.

Eberjey

Eberjey has a great selection of classic pajama sets in long-sleeve, short-sleeve and sleeveless styles, as well as both pants and shorts. They’re mostly known for their soft modal fabric, but also make washable silk products. I like the Eberjey Gisele Crop Pajamas, which have a more feminine fit compared to their menswear-inspired set. The Eberjey Frida Whipstitch Short Pajamas are great for warmer climates and have a cute contrasting stitched trim.

Boody

For more casual sleepwear, Boody makes super soft and sustainable underwear, bras, sleepwear and loungewear. I have the Goodnight Sleep Tee and Goodnight Sleep Short in the color Dusty Pink and wear them non-stop! They’re made of breathable, moisture-wicking bamboo viscose, which prevents me from getting too hot under the covers. They also wash well.

Slips and nightgowns

vintage nightgowns gift ideas

One of my favorite things to treat myself to during the holidays is a vintage nightgown. Slips, nightgowns and sleep dresses are so comfortable to sleep in and lounge around the house with a robe. Check your local vintage stores or search “vintage nightgowns” on Etsy, where you can filter by decade, price and arrival time. Whether vintage or vintage-inspired, nightgowns make great sleepwear gift ideas for the homebody.

Kilo Brava

Ethically-made lingerie and sleepwear brand Kilo Brava just dropped their holiday collection and I want all of it. Inspired by ’70s and ’80s icons Grace Jones and Jerry Hall, the collection features sumptuous fabrics, fun prints and retro cuts. The Kilo Brava Satin Midi Slip hugs in all the right places and has adjustable back ties, while the red-hot Retro Lace Chemise has a shorter hemline and retro-inspired lace.

True Vintage Nightgowns

True vintage nightgowns have a unique fit and look compared to modern designs. These shops have a good selection of vintage sleepwear:

Cozy robes

vintage robe gift idea

I have a vintage robe by Lisanne I bought on Etsy that I look forward to wearing every winter (pictured above). It’s made of a velvelty fabric and makes me truly feel like the head woman of the house that I am! Plus it has pockets. All robes should have pockets. There are tons of vintage robes on eBay and Etsy that would make wonderful loungewear gift ideas. The brands below also make cozy robes to gift this holiday season.

Jennafer Grace Kimono

I discovered this designer after someone tagged their account on Instagram and now I’m fairly obsessed. Not only does Jennafer Grace make classy vintage-inspired pajama sets, but also designs amazing caftans and robes. The Hyacinth Faux Fur Cuff Duster looks so cozy with its faux fur sleeves and has a beautiful dark floral motif. I could also see myself putting on the Peacock Silk Velvet Koi Kimono and never taking it off.

J.Crew Eco Dreamiest Robe

I appreciate when a major retailer begins taking steps toward more sustainable practices. The J.Crew Eco Dreamiest Robe is made with viscose sourced from responsibly managed forests and made with less water and lower emissions. It’s available in three neutral colors and you can add a monogram for $10 at checkout so it’s a nice personalized gift idea.

Glamorous robes

Looking for a more glamorous gift? These brands make stunning robes fit for Old Hollywood movie stars. They’re great for date night in, boudoir shoots or just wearing because they make you feel special. From slinky to sheer, these robes make a big first impression.

Dottie’s Delights

Dottie’s Delights creates “vintage-inspired pieces for the modern world.” There are so many gorgeous pieces, from retro ’60s-inspired babydoll nightgowns to floor-length robes worthy of a burlesque star. They also offer the option to customize current products for a fee, so you can create a personalized gift. I bought the Mam’selle Tulle Dressing Robe to live out my 1940s-film-star dreams (pictured) and it did not disappoint.

Trashy Diva Lingerie

Trashy Diva makes some of my favorite dresses. They also have a Trashy Diva Lingerie line with quality lingerie and seriously stunning robes. Their latest collection is inspired by 1970s glam, with gowns in different cuts and lengths, in bright colors with fun details like feather trim and pom pom tassels. The Glam Harlow Robe in Chartreuse is begging to be added to my closet.

Anya Lust

Anya Lust has a wide variety of luxury lingerie and and nightwear by different designers. The robes by Kâfemme are some of the most glamorous robes out there. Made with materials like silk and satin blends and French lace, they feel just as lavish as they look.
