Packing for a trip, no matter the distance or length of time, requires in-depth planning for fashion lovers. You have to account for different types of weather, balancing comfort with style and occasionally, different levels of dressiness. Thankfully, I’ve found the best shorts for travel that can be dressed up or down and are just as cute as they are comfortable.

On my list of must-pack items for traveling: shoes I can walk in all day, a roomy crossbody handbag and comfortable shorts. The last thing I want to worry about while traveling is fussing with my clothing. Planning a trip is stressful enough! I’ve found a pair of shorts that provides more stretch than denim, and has smart features like pockets that zip and quick-dry fabric. Cute and comfortable shorts with hidden pockets? Yes, please.

The Wayre Bermuda Flow Short has become one of my spring and summer staples—I even wear these into early fall, since the weather doesn’t change until late in the year where I live—and I find them to be the best travel shorts. The flowy shorts are available in a range of colors and prints and you can save an additional 20% off with my code: DAPPERDAHLIA.

Flattering fit

There are many details to love about the Wayre Bermuda Flow Shorts, but let’s start with the fit. These shorts have a “midi length,” with a 5.5″ inseam. They hit about mid-thigh on me. The longer length on these shorts means your thighs are protected from both the sun and hot car seats or benches.

The high waist looks especially cute with cropped tops or sweaters, and the front pleats create a roomy feel and high-end look. The loose, flowy fit is not only flattering but also keeps me cool and comfy all day.

Smart details

These bermuda shorts are made with travel-friendly features in mind, including side pockets with zippers to protect your valuables while sightseeing. There’s also a third, hidden compartment to keep personal belongings extra safe.

Perhaps even more importantly, the back of the shorts has an elasticized waistband so you can feel free to eat all the local delicacies you want without sacrificing comfort.

Travel-friendly fabric

Now, I’ve got to talk about the fabric. The “Like-Silk” material is a blend of 86% recycled plastic bottles, 8% recycled spandex and 6% spandex. It’s much more wrinkle-resistant than cotton, linen, or rayon, so it’s easy to fold or roll the shorts and tuck into a suitcase without the worry of needing an iron immediately upon arrival.

The lightweight fabric also dries super quickly, making them especially great for pool parties, beach trips and cruises. I’ve worn them as a swimsuit coverup on several occasions. They’re easy to slip on and off and they look stylish enough to go straight from the pool to lunch. I’d even recommend these for easy to moderate hiking trails because of the quick-dry fabric.

Tons of color options

The silk-like fabric makes it easy to dress these up for drinks or dinner. I wear the black shorts—Used Black is the shade name—with everything from button up shirts to off-the-shoulder tops to cropped tank tops. In addition to lots of neutral options, the shorts come in a range of cute prints and colors, some limited edition.

Accurate sizing

When it comes to sizing, I find the Bermuda Flow Shorts to fit true to size. I typically wear a size small or 4 in pants, and I order a size small in these shorts. The shorts are available in sizes XXS to XXXL. If you aren’t sure what size to go with, check the size chart for product measurements. I also find it helpful that Wayre’s website shows each product on models in different sizes. There are also lots of detailed reviews from customers, many of which include photos.
